It is appalling that these types of atrocities occur in the United States of America on our watch. I will do everything in my power to reach out to as many people as possible through news outlets and Social Media in order to expose the barbaric and inhumane practices of ICE and its processing centers. I wholeheartedly hope that you find it in your heart to help with what you can and give these human beings a voice and bring their stories to light so that we can stop these atrocities against other human beings from continuing to happen in our society.

1. Jose is the father of three daughters, a grandfather, and an important member of his community. His family needs him here. 2. He is a victim of a crime, waiting for a signature from Kimberly Cox for certification of a U Visa; and as such deserves to be with his family as the city does its job to give him that signature. The Lakewood Police Department has failed to sign his certification needed during an urgent moment, and has failed to give any explanation for refusing to give this signature. Jose has worked with the police to prevent any other community members from being a victim. 3. The fact that he is in deportation proceedings is harming this children. Kids should not have to experience this trauma. 4. Right now it's Jose who is in this situation, but tomorrow it can be someone else who suffers this lack of justice. We need a stop to this now! Migrant families should be able to trust law enforcement in these kinds of processes, especially when it's about U visas as victims of crimes. More importantly, deportations harm families and specifically the children psycologically. This family is suffering while they wait in limbo. No family deserves.

Zakir Hussain is an immigrant from Bangladesh who came to the United states in 2008. After arriving, he filled an asylum case due to political threats from lawe enforcement in his home country. His brother back in Bangladesh has been arrested multiple times recently by law enforcement due to his political beliefs. Unfortunately his political asylum was rejected in 2009. In 2011, he got married and later had 2 children with his wife. He worked as a street food vendor to support himself and his family. His wife, a green card holder, applied for his green card in December of 2016. However January of this year, Immigration Customs Enforcement agents came to his food cart and detained him at work. Since then his wife and two children have had to fend for themselves without their father who was the provider for the family. If Zakir is not granted his motion to reopen his case, we hill be separated form his wife and his 6 year old and 3 year old sons. This is yet an other case of ICE unjustly tearing families apart and depopulating our immigrant communities. We cannot allow Zakir to be taken from his family and his community. We cannot allow Zakir to be deported back to a country where is safety is seriously at risk. We need to keep Zakir's family united and make sure his wife and sons are not abandoned by an unjust immigration system.

Riaz Talukder is a husband and father of two US born sons Rafi age 15 and Radi age 11. Riaz first came to the US in 1981 but went back in 1998. On August 18th, 2010 he was arrested by immigration officers at home and was sent to Elizabeth Detention Center in New Jersey. After his home raid and detainment, Riaz learned that he had a deportation order against him. Riaz has been battling this deportation order ever since while attempting to adjust his status to stay with his sick wife, who is battling cancer. Since his arrest in 2010, Riaz has been going to regular supervision check ins with ICE. At his last check-in, he was told to bring his passport and a plane ticket back home for his next ICE check-in on November 20th. If he were to be deported, his wife would be left without his support in her fight against cancer, and his kids would be left without their father. This is an unjust action by our immigration system to separate a husband and father from his wife and kids. We need to ensure Riaz’s two sons and his wife are not forcefully abandoned by an immigration system that seeks to deport their main caretaker. **UPDATE** Thanks to community pressure through collecting signatures for this petition, by community members who went inside of Federal Plaza today with Riaz for his supervision meeting with ICE, Riaz has been given his next ICE check-in 6 months from now in May of 2018, instead of an immediate deportation as was expected. However the fight for Riaz to stay with his wife and two sons is not over. We need to continue to get more support for him and demand the motion to reopen his case be approved.

Four-year-old Shaun and his six-year-old sister, Viana, are at risk of losing their father, Noel, as ICE may deport him when he appears for a regular check-in on Thursday 10/26. Noel is the sole breadwinner for his family as Shaun's mother cares for Shaun and Viana full-time. Because of his illnesses, Shaun is wheel-chair bound and completely dependent on his parents. He cannot sit up or walk by himself, and even requires multiple catheterizations each day. He has daily appointments with physical therapists and his medical team. Shaun has had already had many surgeries and will need more in the future. Shaun's mom and dad (Noel) take care of all of his needs. Noel has lived in the United States for 25 years and is a dedicated father, husband and employee. His family relies entirely on him for economic and emotional support, and to give Shaun with the best chance at a happy childhood and long life.
